Based in Houston, Texas, Charles Shears established SDI Realty Advisors in 1997. As a managing partner, he focuses on developing shadow-anchored retail centers, typically anchored by Lowe’s Home Improvement or Walmart Supercenter locations. Under the leadership of Charles Shears and Ken Delery, SDI initially focused on developments across the Houston Metro region but soon expanded throughout Texas.
Moreover, Charles Shears has experience developing retail centers ranging from 7,500 to 15,000 square feet. Over nearly three decades at SDI, he has co-developed more than 60 Lowe’s Home Improvement and 23 Wal-Mart Supercenter projects. That said, he has worked with a wide variety of additional shadow-anchor stores, including Dick’s Sporting Goods, Bed Bath & Beyond, and PetSmart, as well as chain restaurants such as Chipotle and Five Guys.
Charles Shears studied economics at the University of Texas in Austin. After college, he worked for the Sabin-Huey Company, a real estate brokerage specializing in raw land sales. His professional affiliations include the International Council of Shopping Centers and the National Association of Convenience Stores.
